Some ambitious folks in the neighborhood by the food bank created a little ice rink in the park. It's small and has a tree in the middle of the rink but I'm sure the kids have a great time on it.
Saturday was our Stake Relief Society Anniversary activity. We had a Spiritual Self-Reliance workshop and a class on food storage and preparedness. We did three service projects and collected socks for a homeless shelter.
Hygiene kits for the Native support group
Writing letters to senior citizens in a care facility
Fleece blankets for a children's home
Wednesday was Zone Conference. The focus this transfer was the Holy Ghost. Five years ago this April, President Nelson was sustained as the Prophet. I remember it well - we were sitting in our apartment in Sarajevo Bosnia with the young missionaries in our district watching the solemn assembly. In his first talk, President Nelson said, "Let this Easter be a defining moment in your life. Choose to do the spiritual work required to enjoy the gift of the Holy Ghost and hear the voice of the spirit more frequently and more clearly." (April 2018)
We watched a short clip of Elder Bednar talking about whether it's our own thoughts or the Holy Ghost talking to us. This is a question I have often pondered - am I listening to the Spirit or am I listening to myself? It was excellent and I invite you to watch the entire Q&A session with him at Ensign College. On you tube it's titled Q&A with David A Bednar.

The entire session is about 38 minutes long. If you aren't able to invest that much time, start at 13:00 and go to 21:00. Elder Bednar says we are living in revelation; we are constantly being guided by the Holy Ghost and aren't even aware of it. It shouldn't be the rare event. Don't spend too much time worrying about if a thought is from the Holy Ghost. If it's inviting and enticing you to be good and do good, it is from Him.
