April 18-24, 2022

This will probably be the shortest blog post in history - no photos and nothing to write about! John caught my Covid cough and runny nose late last week.  He was sure it was just a cold, as he had no other symptoms.  I convinced him to do a test and sure enough, positive.  I still tested positive as well.  So we've had another week of isolation.  Except for fatigue and the lingering cough we both feel pretty good now.  Saturday morning we both tested positive again, so have to give it another few days. We did teach early morning seminary and were back in bed by 7:30 for a couple more hours of sleep! Thank you for all your concern and prayers on our behalf.  While we are grateful for the extra study time, TV we wouldn't normally be watching, and the opportunity to slow down, we are very anxious to get back to work and do something more productive. "Isaac did not become an Abraham or a Jacob.  He did not reach the heights of Abraham, called the "Fat...

Happy Easter!  We hope your day is filled with precious reminders of our Savior.  We testify that he lives, he knows us individually and loves us all unconditionally. You know how optimistic and hopeful you feel when you have a good plan for the week?  You feel organized and energized; ready to get out there and conquer whatever gets in the way?  That's how our week started, but thanks to this positive result: This is how I spent most of my week: All I really wanted to do was go home (Utah home) and lay on the couch with my favorite pillow and blanket.  John was kind enough to loan me his favorite fish blanket to keep me warm and cozy.  There wasn't any other option but to wait it out.  It felt like an extreme case of the flu and a very nasty cold.  Thank goodness for vaccinations - it could have been much worse.  And this is how John spent most of his week: Sitting in his chair watching over me.  He had to take care of everything this w...

Thank you all for your inquiries of John's health and for all the ideas and suggestions you sent.  The mission doctor finally agreed to try the Epley maneuver (turning the head and body to different positions to adjust the inner ear crystals) last week.  It may need to be repeated a time or two but John says the dizziness has gone away for now.  He still has occasional light-headedness if he sits up in bed too quickly in the morning.  He has resumed walking 2-3 miles each morning and I have grudgingly allowed him to drive again. Saturday was our ward temple day.  We went to an endowment session in the morning.  There were only 20 people in the session, seated every other chair.  We're still wearing masks here and this temple is seriously fanatical about hand sanitizer!  The machines were spaced every few feet and the workers blocked the way until you cleaned your hands.  The youth baptisms were later in the day and look who was able to partic...

My favorite weekend of the year is over already.  It always amazes me how quickly the time passes during General Conference.  The talks were amazing; filled with inspiration and things that I needed to hear.  As we listened we thought of the friends we are working with, wondering if they followed though on their commitment to watch conference and find answers to their questions.  Other than the talks, my favorite conference moments:  President Nelson on Sunday morning when he began his talk with, "Brothers and Sisters, I love you."  His short pause let us savor that sweet moment and we are sure that he does love us.  The second was when President Nelson announced a temple in Missoula, Montana.  My hometown!  Growing up there, I never dreamed a temple would be built there.  But, my reaction since the temple in Elko, Nevada was announced is that if Elko can have a temple, no where else should surprise me.  No offense to Elko fol...
