I guess it was a fairly routine and uneventful week for us.  I don't even have any photos to share except one of the Sisters when they stopped by our apartment to tell us goodbye.  Sister Ledding flew home Friday morning and is with her family in Saskatoon Saskatchewan.  Sister Schaffer is on Prince Edward Island with her new companion.  I'm a little jealous.  Of her being on PEI, not the new companion. We started a new Temple Preparation class on Wednesday evening.  There are only three participants we meet in this class.  The fourth was to begin individual teaching after church today but he didn't come to church, so not sure what's happening with him yet. We were able to attend a temple session Saturday morning.  If you haven't been to the temple lately, we highly recommend it.  The recent changes made the experience much sweeter for me. On the way home from the temple we saw some ice fisherman on the river.  They had their tents and c...

So yer in Canada, eh? We bought these jackets at Carnaval last weekend and wore them Saturday when we visited Sucrerie Bonaventure.  This place wasn't nearly as fun as the sugar shack we went to last spring.  The food wasn't as good or plentiful; the wagon was pulled by this tractor instead of horses and we didn't see any of the maple trees on the ride.  It is a bit early and cold still for the sugaring to have started.  We were disappointed but it was fun to be with other senior missionaries for a couple of hours. And we enjoyed rolling and eating the tire sur la neige (taffy on the snow). On Valentine's Day we took treats to some of the older widows in the ward.  It's always fun to visit with them and hear their life stories. We had our last District Council before transfers next week.  Sister Ledding is going home to Saskatchewan.  She just learned that she has been accepted into BYU so we'll be able to see her again when we return to Utah....

We were finally able to give Sister Smith her Christmas present this week.  She is back at the nursing facility and seems to be doing okay for the moment.  We were very concerned when she was returning to the hospital every other day for emergency procedures.  We also took her some chocolate cake and she couldn't wait to eat it.  The stroke affected her right side and she isn't yet very coordinated with her left hand so we fed her the cake.  She was so cute - we couldn't get it into her mouth fast enough!  She would say how good it tasted and ask if she could have more.  She was so grateful for the quilt.  We hope it keeps her warm and cozy.  She was all tucked in for a nap when we left. Early Friday morning we boarded the train for Quebec City.  Sister Corbett and Sister Proctor went with us to the Québec Winter Carnival or Carnaval de Québec.  It is (supposedly, that's how they advertise it anyway) the oldest and largest winter ca...
