Last week was transfer week and we lost all our young missionaries except Sister Larsen and Sister Day.  The Elders were teaching several men that have been turned over to the Sisters now.  They can't teach men without a family or at least one additional sister with them so we will probably be spending more teaching time with them.  They are a little stressed with the responsibility but it will all work out.  We always have a district P-day before transfers.  We did pumpkin carving at the chapel.  We didn't actually carve - a couple of the Elders came without pumpkins so we donated ours and watched.

We have some pretty talented carvers

During our visit with Sister Smith on Thursday, I asked what else she would like us to do to make her day better.  She asked if we could sing a song.  I really wanted to say no.  She wanted to sing a Primary song and decided on I Am a Child of God.  We got our phones out for the music and we all sang together.  Her roommate was having a bath or some other treatment with a nurse behind her curtains while we sang.  We hope they both listened and felt the spirit with us.

After our visit we decided to get back on the bus and ride the remainder of the route to see what we could see in the north section of Montréal.  We saw lots of neighborhoods we had not previously been to.  We rode for about 30 minutes to the terminal where the bus driver rests for a few minutes before driving on.  We were near the Biodome (we visited in the spring) and a metro station so decided to get back on the metro and go home rather than riding the bus another 30 minutes before getting on the metro.  We do enjoy wandering through the city when we have time.

Beautiful Angrignon Park is now carpeted with leaves.  Shuffling through the leaves and making noise with my feet makes me feel like a kid again!

The geese and ducks have departed but the squirrels are still hard at work gathering supplies.

Today's Relief Society lesson was Elder Renlund's talk A Framework for Personal Revelation.  One of the sisters was telling us her experience of asking the Lord her question several times, even after she had received her answer.  She was afraid others would judge her, so kept asking for confirmation.  It wasn't until she let go of her pride and worldly concerns that she felt peace.  She said something that was very profound: "when the Lord isn't saying anything, he's still talking to you!"
